Forget Everything You Know About Handymen. Then Meet Mike Vecchione
No one loves homes more than Mike. In fact, he’s spent his entire career in the housing industry, with particular passions for architecture, construction, interior design and remodeling. He loves every aspect – from working with architects on a custom home plan to envisioning and personally installing custom wainscoting.
Mike devoted more than 30 years to a career as a Realtor, absorbing everything he could from the thousands of homes he visited. Along the way as a remodeler, custom home builder, and kitchen & bath designer he learned to balance feasibility and value with great design.
Living by “old-school” values.
Mike comes from an era that put a premium on reliability, honesty, hard work, and accountability. He carries these values into each home he enters and can draw on his vast experience to handle projects efficiently, no matter what challenges are posed.
He knows how to communicate with clients, which is critical in getting projects done right. He has the patience to describe what his plans are and why, and make sure that your needs and vision are reflected in the end result.
Bottom line: he has absolute respect for you and your home, and he has the skills to do it justice. He genuinely cares.
Why he moved to Montgomery County.
For the best of reasons: Mike and his wife, Marcia, relocated to be closer to family. Within a week of arriving from suburban Chicago he started work, in 2021, as a Kitchen & Bath Designer for the Home Depot Design Center in Rockville. This position enabled him to form close relationships with the many talented people there, learn about the local housing market, and expand his skill set. Now he’s decided to go off on his own.
Why become a handyman?
Mike loves nothing more than tackling projects and working with his hands. He cherishes independence and setting his own hours. He loves working one-on-one with clients and getting to know them personally (often, his clients become his friends). Plus there is that wonderful sense of accomplishment at a project’s end that never gets old.
What Mike can do for you and what he has done for others.
In addition to 30+ years in real estate, Mike has:
- 10 years experience designing kitchens, baths and additions
- Worked in the basement waterproofing and structural repair industry
- Developed 2 custom homes, working hand in hand with the architect and builder
- Remodeled 3 homes doing much of the work himself
- A lifetime of projects for friends and family under his belt
